25th Annual Conference

October 27-28, 2022

Join us at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN on October 27th-28th. We are planning to partner with BehaviorLive again to offer a hybrid option. Our call for papers will be open in a few months, but we encourage everyone to start thinking about presenting now. Please check out of FAQs about presenting and reach out to Michelle or Cady if you have questions. We will be releasing the invited speaker line up soon, so continue to check your email and TABA’s social media pages for additional information.

Presenting at TABA: Frequently Asked Questions and Common Misconceptions

  1. “I am not doing research.”
You don’t need to be affiliated with a university or doing a formal study to present! For an event to count for CEUs it needs to go beyond the task list. Did you have a client you used a new approach with? Share this! Do you have a specific way of training staff? Tell us about it!
  2. “I don’t have IOA because I didn’t conduct a study.”
Please present your data, but don’t let the lack of IOA, or procedural fidelity, or other types of data needed for publication in JABA prevent you from sharing your work with the TABA community. If you are referencing a specific case, share client progress data. If you are sharing about your supervision, share how you track progress on task list items. If you are presenting on outreach to clients typically not served by behavior analysts, share demographic data.
  3. “I don’t have my presentation ready by the submission deadline.”
During the call for papers you just need an abstract and updated CV or resume
  4. “I’m not a BCBA/I’m in training.”
The BACB requires one presenter to be a BCBA in good standing. Partner up with a supervisor, colleague or friend to share your work together
  5. “I’m nervous/I don’t usually present.”
This is a great growth opportunity! TABA members are friendly, and most likely the majority of people you are speaking to are in the same boat.
If you would like support please reach out to the TABA EC. We will gladly help you find someone within our organization to help you prepare.
Every year our members ask for more variety. We would love to highlight some of the work being done around the state that has not always been a part of our program.
